Our spacious self-catering apartments offer you plenty of room to breathe – no matter if you’re on a culture or city break with friends or family, taking a workation or on a longer business trip in and around the city of Salzburg. Two historic buildings situated directly opposite each other, the salt residences & the salt vis à vis offer a cozy retreat in the heart of Hallein’s old town with their lovingly renovated apartments. This is the perfect place for switching off, unwinding and experiencing everything Hallein has to offer.

What you should know

Here, you will find modern self-catering apartments. You decide what you need and when. Because we care about the environment, we do not offer daily cleaning. Instead, we provide the following services:

Rubbish disposal: the rubbish disposal room is located on the ground floor of the salt residences
Bed linen & interim cleaning: every 8 days
Final cleaning fee: one-time payment of €80 per apartment

Can I select and reserve a specific apartment?

Due to the different room layouts and amenities in our apartments, it is unfortunately not possible to reserve a specific apartment. However, we always do what we can to take your wishes into account and find a suitable solution for you.

How much does final cleaning cost?

The final cleaning fee is charged separately and is €80 per apartment.

Can my dog come along?

Of course! We would be happy to welcome your four-legged friend to the salt. Up to two dogs are allowed per apartment in both of our apartment buildings. Please be sure to let us know if you are bringing dogs when you make your booking.

Cost: €20 per stay
Please bring your own equipment such as bowls, blankets, etc.

Is there a lift at the salt residences & vis à vis?

The salt residences and the salt vis à vis apartment buildings are not wheelchair accessible, as the apartments are only accessible via a staircase.
If you have any questions about accessibility or require assistance on-site, please contact us in advance – we will be happy to help!

Where can I park my car?

Paid public parking is available in the immediate vicinity. Find more information here: Location & Directions.

Is there a reception or check-in on site?

We organise your entire stay in just a few steps. Check-in and check-out are digital, contactless, and straightforward.

7 days before arrival, we will send you a link to the online registration form and ask you to fill it out completely.
1 day before arrival, we will send you all the important information about your journey and parking.
On the day of arrival (15 minutes before the official check-in time at 3 pm), you will receive a detailed email with all the details you need, such as the code for the key safe, a map and other useful information.
If you have any questions, a receptionist is available at the salt townhouse every day from 9 am to 1 pm. Plus, you can reach us at any time by email stay@thesalt-hallein.com or text/WhatsApp on +43 676 940 99 62.

Is there WiFi in the hotel?

We would like to offer guests a modern, digital guest journey. Free high-speed WiFi is available in all rooms and throughout the hotel.

Can I cancel my apartment?

You will find our cancellation policy when you book your stay – depending on the rate, free cancellation is possible up to a certain point in time. Before you cancel, please contact us in good time – we may be able to reschedule your stay and save everyone the additional costs.

Up to 31 days before the start of your stay – free cancellation
15 to 30 days before the start of your stay – 50% of the total agreed price
8 to 14 days before the start of your stay – 80% of the total agreed price
Up to 7 days before the start of your holiday – 100% of the total agreed price

For refunds of payments already made, we charge a flat-rate processing fee of €90 (per booking). You can find more information in our Terms & Conditions.

Are there baby cots or extra beds available?

We are happy to provide baby cots free of charge upon request.

Is it possible to wash laundry?

At the salt residences you will find a guest laundry room that you can use free of charge. There you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay:

Shoe care

In the guest laundry room, you will also find our baking boxes and games boxes available to borrow. Please return them tidy and complete.
